About the Vimshottari Dasha Course

Vimshottari Dasha is a widely studied planetary-period system within traditional Vedic astrology. It divides a traditional 120-year cycle among nine planetary rulers, beginning with Ketu, followed by Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury. The system uses the Moon’s birth Nakshatra to determine the starting planetary period and the remaining balance at birth.

This course introduces learners to the basic methods of understanding Dasha sequences, Mahadasha, Antardasha, and introductory Pratyantar Dasha. Students practise identifying Dasha lords, examining their planetary placements and house ownership, understanding the role of Nakshatra-based calculations, and comparing planetary periods with other horoscope factors. The programme provides a foundation for further study and encourages learners to avoid drawing conclusions from a planetary period in isolation.
